I am new to DM, just diagnosed last month. I was wondering if anyone has advice on flare ups, medication, exercise ,diet or anything that you have found helpful in your journey.

Hey Krista -- Not sure what advice you are looking at for flare ups. Your doctor should be working on getting the medication that will work for you. As for exercise, I do yoga. I hired a private yoga teacher, she modified a lot of yoga poses so I could do them laying in bed, sitting in a chair and then standing, based on my limitations. Because this is a muscle condition, I figured I needed experts on muscles to help me recover. I also saw a massage therapist and shiatsu therapist. As for diet, I started making meals from scratch, so processed foods are minimal, which I don't know if it is helping with Myositis, however I feel better eating non-processed foods.
